Jude Bellingham Must Cut Out the Immature behavior to Secure a Star Place Under Tuchel.

For Bellingham to wants to earn his place back into the English top team, the smart move to cut out the dramatics. His response upon realizing that the substitute board was about to come up following a night of uneven play in Tirana was unacceptable.

"I prefer not to make more out of it but I hold to my words 'attitude matters' and respect towards the players who come in," Tuchel said. "Choices are taken and you have to accept it when you're on the field."

There is a lesson for Bellingham. It was unnecessary for an outburst. Kane had recently scored to make the Three Lions 2-0 up in an inconsequential fixture, the game had six minutes to go and Bellingham, after a below-par performance, had just been booked for fouling Armando Broja. This could scarcely be called a debatable decision. Actually it would have been foolish for the head coach to leave Bellingham on given that it was possible Bellingham would be suspended of the first match of the World Cup by getting a another booking.

Turning the Spotlight on Himself

Yet Bellingham drew all eyes toward himself. It was impossible to miss the 22-year-old’s disappointment upon understanding that he would be substituted for a teammate. He threw his arms up and even though he exchanged a handshake after making his way to the sideline it was clear that the head coach was displeased.

This represents the hurdle that Bellingham must overcome. He applauded Marcus Rashford for providing the assist for Harry Kane to score the team's second, but the rest was self-defeating. It is not as if protesting was going to alter the decision. The coach has stressed repeatedly respecting team hierarchies and the importance of showing proper conduct.

In the Spotlight

He, omitted from the team last month, has faced close inspection upon his return to the squad in the current camp. Practically he has been on trial and his actions haven't benefited him with his response to his substitution as the national team rounded off a perfect qualifying campaign by seeing off a tough opposition from their opponents.

Tactics and Formation

It means it's unclear on if the squad operate most effectively with Bellingham in the team. The performance was not definitive. Tuchel tried new things from the manager early on. Under him, England have gained England organization and direction over the past few matches, employing a holding player, a box-to-box player, an attacking midfielder and out-and-out wingers, but the approach changed against Albania. Quansah was handed his international debut, Adam Wharton started for the first time for England and the role of John Stones as a part-time midfielder gave a passing resemblance to the Manchester club's 2023 treble winners.

Mixed Performance

His performance was inconsistent. He created an opportunity for Eberechi Eze after the break but frequently appeared too desperate to impress. He made many hurried and errant passes. There was a needless bit of aggro with an Albania midfielder at the beginning. England's play was messy for much of the second half. An opportunity for Albania came after Bellingham squandered possession. His caution was shown after he lost the ball by Broja and committed a foul on Broja.

Substitutes Decide

Ultimately the bench quality proved crucial. Tuchel threw on Phil Foden, who seemed better suited to the position in which Bellingham operated in the opening period, and Bukayo Saka. Later Saka provided a corner for Harry Kane to break the deadlock. It was a reminder that set pieces will be crucial next summer.

Connection Remains

However, all talk was about Bellingham. The excellence of Rashford’s assist for the second goal was partly forgotten due to the fuss of the player change. When the match concluded, all eyes were on the midfielder. Tuchel walked up to his side and guided the player in the direction of the English fans. The bond between them remains intact. Tuchel is not willing to abandon Bellingham yet. However, whether Tuchel is inclined to offer him the central position is still uncertain.
