Performer Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Views Following Lending His Voice To Controversial Coronavirus Film

Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccinations and lauds ex- cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Documentary's Contentious Foundation

Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for claims that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

Her collaborator, a producer, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. He took to social media celebrating Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Rebuttal

The team of Neeson have provided a response strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Everyone can recognize that misconduct may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with being against vaccines," the comment states. "Liam never has been, and is not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the UN children's agency underscores his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement added that the performer had no hand in the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the producers.

Key Themes Within the Documentary

As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several controversial claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
  • It argues that "medical science has become highly politicized."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it cites a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Controversy and Current Debates

It also references a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the corporation for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, Kennedy instructed the Centers for Disease Control to change its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This claim is also referenced in the film, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Statement of Endorsement

Contrasting the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's script saying, "This isn't the end of our journey. This is the dawn of a different phase."
