🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Express Anger About Sizing Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Changes Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she stated. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
